Tenmoku - The purity of black with reddish brown highlights
Tenmoku is a dark, shiny glaze with russet highlights. The term tenmoku is derived from the Japanese pronunciation of Tianmu Shan, or Mount Eye of Heaven, in the Fujian Province of China where iron-glazed tea bowls were made in a Buddhist mountain temple.
